Welcome to Titanic 2012

On 10th April 1912 a passenger liner called 'Titanic' set sail from Southampton (UK) to New York (US) on her maiden voyage. On the 14th December she had struck an iceberg and was filling up with water fast. By 2:20am Titanic had sunk to the bottom of the Atlantic Ocean and of the 2,223 people on board. 1,517 died with the ship.

Titanic was famous due to the size of the ship (reason for people thinking she was unsinkable) and also the contents of the ship. She had the latest technology and equipment which other ships never had at that time.

The year is now 2012 and in April this year it will be exactly 100 years since the sinking of Titanic. Though there is nothing to celebrate, we should still remember this tragic disaster and those who lost their lives on the Titanic.
